La Nutria López presents a self-reflective exercise on the sinister, embodied in familiar but strange objects, which have been constructed as living and hybrid organisms. Elements whose composition is difficult to unravel. Inside the installation we find different figurative pieces that were born deformed. Their familiarity is strange and is snatched before the eyes of the spectator, who cannot grasp this Dopplegänger: a bovine head made of raku, animal structures formed by bioplastics or human faces that observe menacingly from the least unexpected angles. The different materials used by La Nutria amplify this feeling of confusion about the elements that make up the installation, resulting in a blurred mix where you cannot distinguish what is artificial from what is natural. The sculptures themselves that occupy the space are detached from what they replicate through this estrangement.
