ⓡ for ⓒ, ℜ𝔢𝔮𝔲𝔦𝔢𝔪 𝔣𝔬𝔯 𝔞 𝔡𝔦𝔤𝔦𝔱𝔞𝔩 𝔩𝔦𝔣𝔢 is a performative ritual staging a symbolic funeral for a forgotten first-generation virtual singer. it offers a posthumous rite that acknowledges the emotional and cultural life of a digital being. the work creates a sensory, participatory funeral space in which the performer becomes a co-creator of the memorial. the funeral is not only an act of closure but a live re-writing of memory; a hybrid space where human intervention reanimates the digital dead, collapsing boundaries between machine and person, virtual and physical. this ritual does not simply memorialize a single character. it asks a broader question: how should we part with technologies that once shaped us? rather than discarding or overwriting them, can we mourn them; acknowledging the affective labor, cultural presence, and relational histories they carried?
